ABSTRACT: In epidemiology, the idea of slowing the spread of the virus so that fewer people need treatment at any given time is known as 'straightening the curve'. The "curve" refers to the estimated number of people who will be infected with the virus over a period of time. The faster the infection curve rises, the faster the health system is overloaded.
