CHALLENGES FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL CENTERS IN THE CONTEXT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

ABSTRACT: In epidemiology, the idea of slowing the spread of the virus so that fewer people need treatment at any given time is known as 'straightening the curve'. The "curve" refers to the estimated number of people who will be infected with the virus over a period of time. The faster the infection curve rises, the faster the health system is overloaded.
The aim of the present study is to review and analyze the provision of emergency medical care in the context of a COVID-19 pandemic based on literature data.Material and methods: For the period January 2020 - August 2021 a review was made in the scientific databases Scopus, Web of Science, Science Direct, Up to Date by keywords in English: emergency medical care, COVID-19, pandemic, challenges.
