ANALYSIS OF PATIENTS WHO PASSED THROUGH THE MULTIDISCIPLINARY EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL “ST. MARINA” – VARNA

ABSTRACT: The aim of the present study is to make an analysis of the patients who passed through the multidisciplinary emergency department of UMHAT "St. Marina" - Varna for the period 2013-2020. Material and methods: Over 230,000 transferred patients for the period 2013-2020, who were examined and referred for hospitalization or treatment at home. The results were processed with SPSS v 20.0 using variation and comparative analyzes. Results: For the studied period there is a tendency to increase the number of children, patients with infections, the relative share of hospitalized patients, which exceeds 60% in patients with infections. Despite the increased number of examined children in the emergency department, there is a tendency to reduce hospitalizations in this group of patients. There is no persistent trend in hospitalizations in elderly patients. There was a difference in examinations in adults and children (p <0.05).
