COMMUNICATION BARRIERS IN INTERACTION WITH FOREIGN PATIENTS

ABSTRACT: The paper analyzes the main aspects of communication with foreign patients in hospital and emergency care, the difficulties and challenges accompanying the process of providing medical services to patients with limited or zero local language skills. Key concepts related to communication have been analyzed, typical features related to communication with foreigners in emergency admission have been highlighted. The paper points out good practices that aim to facilitate the provision of medical care to foreign patients and the work of medical teams, presenting them in the context of the modern understanding of the patient`s figure in the center of the system.
