Admission and fees

Teaching in Republic Bulgaria is caried out only in Bulgarian language. Every foreign citizen willing to study in Bulgaria passes one-year course in the Foreign Students Department for learning the language together with a prior university preparation.  

The admission fees for foreign citizens are determined every year by the Ministry of Education and Science. For the Academic 2009/2010 the fee for the preparatory course is € 2200. The fee for a full - time studying depends on the chosen subject area and university. For our University it is € 2800 a year. The foreign citizens use a room in the students’ hostels which are situated in the University Campus. The price for a single room with a shower and a central heating is € 65 a month. Foreign citizens can also use free textbooks and other materials available at the University library. The academic year starts on the 1, October. It is divided in two semesters.  

To enrol the foreign students must present the following documents: application and original diploma from a high school (or naturally countersigned copy), translated in Bulgarian. The documents must be present personally. The foreigners do not sit for an entrance exam.

Becoming a student at a Bulgarian University the foreign citizen receives automatically a document that solves all his visa problems in Bulgaria.  

FOREIGN STUDENTS DEPARTMENT

It is a language department for teaching Bulgarian language to foreigners at Bourgas Prof. Assen Zlatarov University. The department offers the following courses:  

The individual course is for foreigners who do not want to study in Bulgaria, but need Bulgarian language for everyday and business purposes.  

The training is provided with the needed textbooks, language laboratory, audio and video materials and other training aids. The teachers are respected professionals, including Doctors of Bulgarian language.  

The 9-months course starts at the beginning of October. The admission fee is determined every year by the Ministry of Education and Science. For enrolling the Department the foreigner must present a copy of his graduation diploma, translated in an English, German or French language and signed by a consulate.
